Finding a counsellor who has experience working with intellectual disability

At CID, we often get phone calls from parents, people with intellectual disability or workers looking to find counsellors who have experience working with people with intellectual disability.

Everyone has hard times, experience grief, needs someone to talk, relationship issues etc., and it is okay and normal to get help. People with intellectual disability also experience

We have started to put together a list of professionals who have this experience. You can give us a call or email us if you are looking for a counsellor.

If you are a counsellor and looking to develop your skills to work with people with intellectual disability, WWILD have developed counselling resources for free. It has examples, a workbook and videos which you can view on the link below.
