Yes, prosthetics is covered under the NDIS. Here is an excerpt from ss. 4(11), 33, 34 and 35 of the NDIS Act

“Prosthetic limb support
Support for prosthetic limbs consist of a custom made socket which fits the residual limb and a terminal device made up of different components that assist in performing functional tasks and providing compatible cosmetics.

Prosthetic limbs vary considerably in their sophistication by virtue of their complexity, cost, and specialisation and due to the varying levels of function they provide. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (the NDIS) will fund reasonable and necessary limbs of a level appropriate to the participant’s needs due to their disability and their agreed goals.”

The word is that although it is not necessary to provide a quote in your planning meeting, if you have a prosthetic that is particularly suitable to achieving one of your goals, it would be worth bringing this to the attention of the LAC or planner.
